ELANGA SECURES A CRUCIAL DRAW FOR MANCHESTER UNITED IN MADRID TO KEEP THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HOPES ALIVE

Image
Die Meister (The Masters) Die Besten (The Best) Les grandes équipes (The biggest teams) The Champions!🎶🎶 With that iconic anthem, UEFA Champions League was back in action on Wednesday night as Manchester United came up against Atlético Madrid in Estadio Wanda Metropolitano. Didn't really turn out to be an entertaining match, but wasn't a boring one either. Both Atlético Madrid and the Red Devils are having an underwhelming season and therefore, it was hard to say who the favourites would be. Still, based on current form, Manchester United were the better team coming into this game. However, as quite often the case has been with the Red Devils, they were abysmal and gave in one of their worst performance in the first half of this match. Since 2005/06 season in the Champions League, for the first time, United wasn't able to take a touch in the opposition's box in the whole 1st half. That's how terrible they were. For the very first time under Ralf Rangnick, United...

REAL MADRID PLAYER RATINGS AS MBAPPÉ SCORES AN INJURY TIME WINNER TO HAND PSG THE WIN

KYLIAN MBAPPÉ. The best player in the world right now. On Tuesday night, PSG claimed all the 3 points against a mediocre Real Madrid performance as Kylian Mbappé came in clutch yet again to score the winner in 90+4th minute. I can't even explain how disappointed I am with Real Madrid and especially Carlo Ancelotti. You stay awake till 4 AM just to see your team get absolutely outplayed by a club which has been the centre of criticism throughout the season. Coming into this game, I was extremely confident as The Los Blancos were the clear favourites. Yes, Real madrid hasn't been performing that well in that last couple of games but I just thought that they would be too much to handle for a disjointed PSG side. I guess I forgot that there's a huge difference between the PSG that plays in Ligue 1 and the PSG that turns up in the Champions League. Credit where it's due, Pochettino's tactics were spot on as they dominated and were in complete control throughout the cours...

ASENSIO'S WONDER STRIKE HELPS REAL MADRID CLAIM A NARROW WIN AGAINST GRANADA

Image
Damn! That was a close match. On Sunday night we faced Granada with an opportunity to go 6 points clear at the top of the table and to respond to the defeat we suffered against Athletic Club which saw us crashing out of the Copa del Rey in the quarter-finals.  To be honest, I was quite nervous coming into this match as I just had a feeling that this might be one of those games where we are in complete control but don't have our shooting boots on. I feared that we might even end up conceding one and blow this opportunity off. While we did end up taking all the 3 points thanks to Asensio's peach of a goal, however, it was far from a convincing win. Taking criticism from the previous match against Athletic Club, Ancelotti decided to make some changes to his starting 11 and include Camavinga and Isco. While this is a good sign as quite often we have seen that Don Carlo, more or less, sticks with the same players in every match, however, I still don't understand why Hazard and J...
