BARCELONA IN CRISIS AS EUROPA LEAGUE BECOMES A REALITY

Barcelona is in shambles. The unthinkable has happened. FC Barcelona will play in the Europa League this season. 
For all my culers out there , I would say don't lose hope because this might be the exact thing that Barça needs right now. After what happened in the match between Barcelona and Bayern Munich in 2020 which ended with a shambolic defeat for Barça, we all kind of saw this coming especially after one of the all time greats, Lionel Messi, left the club for the Parisian Giants.

On Wednesday night we witnessed Bayern Munich with another hugely convincing win against the Catalans with the scoreline ending 3-0. Barcelona was quite good in the starting 30 minutes and looked like they might even end up snatching a win which would've seen them going through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. But just after 30 minutes, we saw Thomas Müller score a header after which there was no coming back.

 Lewandowski came up with the assist on which Piqué definitely should've done better. Jordi Alba was substituted after he got injured and Óscar Mingueza was nowhere as effective as he should've been. The second goal came just before halftime with Leroy Sané scoring from a long way out. Ter Stegen, my man, we can't keep defending you forever. These are the kind of matches where you just have to get things right.



Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman ran a complete havoc throughout the match with the former scoring the third goal for Bayern after Davies flew down the left wing and cut the ball inside for a tap-in. 

Now let me explain why playing in the Europa League might be a blessing in disguise for Barcelona.

  • Barcelona's squad is full of youngsters right now and the confidence they would get upon winning a trophy in Europe would be priceless. As Thomas Müller himself said after the match: "Barça cannot cope with the intensity. Technically and tactically, they have it all. But at the highest level, they cannot match the intensity of the game". This sums up my point perfectly. Winning the Europa League would give team the confidence to come back and compete at the highest level next season. And no matter how bad their form is right now, Barça are still the favourites to go on and win it.

  • As things stand right now, even a top 4 finish seems quite difficult for the Catalan club in La Liga. Therefore, winning the Europa League is of utmost importance if Barça wants to get back to winning ways. They are 6 points off the 4th spot, it's not impossible but it certainly would be difficult to get a Champions League qualification for the next season considering their poor run of form.

 


 

 Talking about the Europa League, it certainly wont be easy for Barça with the likes of Lazio, Napoli, Sevilla, Atalanta and especially Erling Haaland's Dortmund also up as the title contenders.

My fellow Barça fans, all I would say to you is support the club, back the manager, trust the process and don't lose hope. Also, get used to staying up late on Thursday nights!

3 POINTS AS REAL MADRID THRASH VALENCIA 4-1

  How satisfying it is to go to sleep knowing that your team absolutely smashed it's opponent. I'd say it's the best feeling in the world. So yes, I feel like I'm on top of the world while writing about this tremendous team performance from Real Madrid in which we saw them smash Valencia 4-1.  Coming into this game, I knew that we would end up winning considering Valencia's poor run of form this season. But still, I expected a match in which Real Madrid would have to grind out a win, but instead, we got to see a treat of a match with 5 goals in total. 30 minutes into this match and I started feeling that this might end up being a frustrating draw as neither side could produce a clear goalscoring opportunity.
