REAL MADRID VS CADIZ: HAZARDOUS

It was a late Sunday night and I was damn excited about Real Madrid Vs Cadiz game for the sole reason of Eden Hazard starting the match. Now here I am writing about how much I regret sacrificing my sleep just to see hazard ghosting the whole match and blowing up his chance to prove himself.

Being a Real Madrid fan, I have defended Hazard ever since he has been here but I just can't do it anymore. It's over and it would be best for both the club and Hazard to move on. In my humble opinion, Eden hazard will never again reach the level he attained at Chelsea. It's really painful but he has no place left at Real Madrid. Both Vinicius and Rodrygo are way better than him right now and with the likes of Mbappe coming in next season, no one will even think of Hazard.

Eden Hazard was one of the best players when he was bought by Real Madrid and everyone expected him to reproduce what Cristiano Ronaldo did. While expecting someone to replace one of the greatest player of all time is always unfair but Madridistas barely got to see anything from Hazard and their anger and impatience is justified.

On joining Real Madrid, early on he struggled with weight issues and just when we started watching him produce that magic of his down the left flank, he got terribly injured. It was last on 27th November 2019 that we got to see glimpses of prime Hazard at the Santiago Bernabéu. But after that horrendous tackle by the PSG right back, Thomas Meunier, there was no coming back for him. Since then he has struggled to find fitness and consistency.

We are talking about a player who was one of the best dribbler in the world, but now he is not even able to beat defenders in a 1V1 situation. He doesn't put that fear in anybody's mind now. Back in Chelsea, every time he got the ball he went after the opponent's defence which is why they needed to get 2-3 players to mark him in every single match. But now it feels like he's often scared to take on people because of his injury-prone history at Real Madrid.

The only positive Madridistas can take from this whole Hazard situation is that in his absence, Vinicius Jr has stepped up and has very well become one of the best players in Europe right now.

Talking about the match, It was one hell of a boring draw with neither of the sides getting on the scoresheet. Quite often I got annoyed due to the meaningless crosses that were put in by Lucas Vázquez even when there wasn't anybody in the box. Benzema also had a quite game. We got to see Vinicius turning on his magic every now and then but all his efforts were in vain.

Real Madrid had 82% possession of the ball over the course of the game, and their 36 shots, coming from every player barring late sub Nacho and goalkeeper Courtois, showed how dominant they were in this game. However, only a quarter of those shots were on target, and an astounding 15 were blocked by the Cadiz defenders.

The away side fought tooth and nail for their point, and their hard work was rewarded!
